Privacy Policy

Effective August 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Chant Stand, Inc. ("The Chant Stand," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use thechantstand.org (the "Site"), donate, or register for a YAC Conference or other event.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

  • Donation form: email address, donation amount, and whether the donation is recurring. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe and are not collected or stored by us.
  • Event registration: name, email, phone, age, parish, mailing address, dietary restrictions, housing needs, emergency contact name and phone, medical conditions or allergies you choose to disclose, and your acceptance of the Liability Waiver & Media Release and photo consent. Payment is processed by Stripe.
  • Contact: anything you send to info@thechantstand.org or through a contact form.

We do not use cookies or third-party analytics on the Site as of the effective date above. If that changes, we will update this policy.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process donations and issue receipts
  • Process event registration, plan logistics (housing, meals, dietary needs), and respond to emergencies during an event
  • Communicate with you about a donation, registration, or inquiry
  • Send updates about future conferences and The Chant Stand's programming, which you may opt out of at any time
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations as a 501(c)(3) organization

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your information. We share it only as follows:

  • With Stripe, to process donations and registration payments, under Stripe's own privacy policy
  • With the host parish for an event, limited to what is needed for logistics such as attendance, housing, and dietary planning
  • With emergency medical services or your listed emergency contact, if needed during an event, as described in the Liability Waiver & Media Release
  • As required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Chant Stand, participants, or others

4. Medical and emergency information

Medical conditions, allergies, and emergency contact information collected at registration are used only for the safety of that event's participants and are shared only with the organizers planning the weekend and, if needed, emergency responders. This information is not used for any other purpose.

5. Photographs and media

Conference participants accept a Liability Waiver & Media Release at registration that governs how photographs, video, and audio from the event may be used, including on the Site, in newsletters, and on social media. See that agreement for details.

6. Data retention

We retain registration and donation records for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations as a nonprofit. You may ask us to delete information that is not otherwise required to be retained by contacting info@thechantstand.org.

7. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide, including relying on Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor, for all payment card data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or opt out of future communications, by emailing info@thechantstand.org. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to records we are required to keep.

9. Children's privacy

YAC Conference registration is limited to participants ages 18 to 35, and the Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@thechantstand.org and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last revision.
